Truckers requested to plan forward for I-35 closures in Oklahoma Metropolis

The Oklahoma Division of Transportation (ODOT) is planning main interstate closures beginning this weekend.

Beginning at 7 p.m. on Friday, September 16, southbound I-35 will likely be absolutely closed between between I-44 (mile marker 133) and I-40 (mile marker 127) close to downtown Oklahoma Metropolis, Oklahoma. Southbound I-35 is scheduled to reopen at 6 a.m. on September 19.

Visitors will likely be diverted from southbound I-35 on the I-44/I-35 break up, in keeping with ODOT.

The detour will likely be westbound I-44 to southbound I-235/US-77 to southbound I-35 all through the weekend. 

The interstate closure will enable crews to resurface the roadway.

Drivers must also concentrate on a second main interstate closure in Oklahoma Metropolis that’s going down the weekend of September 30.

Beginning at 7 p.m. on Friday, September 30, by means of 6 a.m. on Monday, October 3, northbound I-35 will likely be absolutely closed between I-40 (mile marker 127) and I-44 (mile marker 133).

ODOT says that the detour will likely be I-40 to northbound I-235/US-77 to eastbound I-44 to northbound I-35.
