Semi truck driver cited following collision with Amtrak passenger prepare

Officers in Vermont cited a semi truck driver following a Monday collision with an Amtrak prepare.

The crash occurred at 11:45 a.m. on Monday, February 27, at an unguarded rail crossing in solely serving the the Black River Quarries in Sharon, Vermont.

In keeping with the Vermont Division of Motor Autos Enforcement & Security Division, “the tractor-trailer unit was in movement because it crossed the tracks, at which level the Amtrak prepare collided with the trailer that was hauling stone. The trailer broke free from the truck at influence, preserving the truck from being dragged alongside the tracks.
