OHP sprint cam video captures cable barrier ‘most likely saving some lives’ from skidding semi truck

A semi truck was caught on sprint cam shedding management on an icy bridge in an incident that Oklahoma Freeway Patrol says “might have been a lot worse!”

The incident was caught on a trooper’s sprint cam because the officer was sitting on Interstate 40 east of Vian in Sequoyah County on Tuesday morning, January thirty first. 

In response to the Oklahoma Freeway Patrol, the truck driver was ticketed for touring at a pace not affordable and correct for the highway situations on the time after skidding on an icy bridge and crashing into the roadside cable barrier. The officer says that the barrier prevented the accident from turning into tragic. 

“The cable barrier did its job and possibly saved some lives right this moment,” OHP stated in a Fb submit. “The posted pace restrict is the restrict for preferrred situations, not slick and dangerous.”

The truck driver “fortunately was not injured.”
