Mississippi bridge collapses whereas truck is on it

A bridge in southern Mississippi collapsed into the Buffalo River Thursday, Dec. 29 whereas a tractor-trailer was crossing.

The Jackson Level Bridge in Woodville, about 35 miles south of Natchez, collapsed round 10:30 a.m., based on the Wilkinson County Emergency Administration Company press launch. Officers mentioned no accidents had been reported.

Authorities say county officers are working to evacuate 25 residents from the realm.

Wilkinson County EMA is working with Delta Workover to take away its rig from the bridge, based on the Wilkinson County EMA.
