Lady in tent run over by reversing semi truck in California

A lady sleeping in a tent in California was run over by a semi truck in reverse over the weekend. 

The accident occurred on November nineteenth in downtown Redding, California at about 8:20 p.m.

In response to the File Searchlight, the 62-year-old trucker was backing up westbound on State Road west of Favretto Avenue when he struck the tent with the sleeping lady inside. The tent was arrange simply south of the road. 

“From what I may see, he (the truck driver) was transferring form of gradual and he simply didn’t see her,” stated Vonnie Baker, who was camped on a tarp close by. She stated the girl yelled for assist after she was struck, however was declared lifeless after police arrived. 

The girl had been dwelling on the streets in Redding for “a number of years” and had a canine, who was taken by police. 

“I favored her. She was ornery. She was a sweetheart, however she was ornery,” Baker stated.

No additional info has been launched. The driving force and passenger within the semi truck offered police with an announcement, however it isn’t clear if the trucker is dealing with expenses.
