Former FMCSA employee sentenced to jail for soliciting and accepting bribe from trucking firm

A U.S. Division of Transportation employee has been sentenced to jail on an extortion cost after he admitted to asking for a bribe in alternate for offering a trucking firm with a positive security report.

On June 12, 2023, former Federal Motor Service Security Administration (FMCSA) Border Investigator Patrick Gorena was sentenced to 10 months in jail, a $5,000 wonderful, and a $100 particular evaluation within the U.S. District Court docket for the Southern District of Texas.
