Dump truck driver dies after dropping brakes, crashing into reservoir in Utah

A dump truck driver misplaced his life over the weekend after dropping management of his brakes on a steep downhill slope in Weber County, Utah.

The incident occurred on Friday, July 21, as a dump truck was touring north on Trapper’s Loop towards SR-39.

Officers with the Utah Division of Public Security describe the crash:

A industrial dump truck loaded with prime soil was touring northbound on Trapper’s Loop approaching SR-39, at this location has a major downhill slope.  The dump truck appeared to have misplaced its brakes going downhill.  A witness indicated the truck gave the impression to be braking fixed, and that smoke started to emerge from the wheel hubs.  The motive force of the dump truck tried to gradual his pace by driving on the mushy shoulder based on a witness.  The dump truck was unable to cease for the cease signal at SR-39.  After crossing the intersection, the truck continued via a discipline then traveled down a steep embankment into Pineview the place it was partially submerged in water.  The motive force of the truck was later situated within the cab when the truck was pulled from the water.

Utah DPS didn’t determine the motive force, however they stated that he’s a Mexican citizen.
