A part of I-94 in Detroit closed this weekend for bridge demolition

Climate allowing, Michigan Division of Transportation contract crews will shut each instructions of I-94 between M-10 (Lodge Freeway) and M-3 (Gratiot Avenue) for bridge demolition this weekend

The closure begins at 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27, and ends by 5 a.m. Monday, Oct. 30.

MDOT stated the closure is important to permit crews to securely take away the Beaubien Avenue overpass and the Seminole Avenue pedestrian bridge over I-94.    

 In the course of the freeway closure, westbound I-94 will likely be detoured through southbound M-3 to southbound I-75, then westbound I-96 again to westbound I-94.   

Eastbound I-94 will likely be detoured through southbound M-10 to northbound I-75, then northbound M-3 again to eastbound I-94.   

Previous to the complete closure, all entrance ramps to westbound I-94 from Cadieux to John R. roads will likely be closed. Entrance ramps to eastbound I-94 will shut from thirtieth Avenue to M-53 (Van Dyke Avenue). All ramps will reopen by 5 a.m. Monday.
