9 tractor-trailers concerned in crash on I-70 in japanese Colorado

A tractor-trailer jackknifed Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 18, and set in movement a chain-reaction collision on Interstate 70 that wound up involving eight different tractor-trailers and 12 passenger automobiles.

No accidents had been reported within the collision that occurred in the eastbound lanes of I-70 close to Byers, about 45 miles east of Denver. The Colorado State Patrol reported blowing snow created white-out situations on the time of the incident.

The crash and winter storm situations compelled a shutdown of the freeway from Airpark Street to the Kansas border. 

On Tuesday, Jan. 17, 4 tractor-trailers had been concerned in a collision on westbound I-70 in Glenwood Canyon about 155 miles west of Denver.

I-70 was closed for a lot of the day as a hazmat crew cleaned up some 3,000 gallons of gasoline spilled from a tanker concerned within the crash.
